Fire Academy

The Red Bluff Fire Department is in the planning stages for a Firefighter I Academy starting in January 2009. You must be at least 18 years old on November 1, 2008 to be considered for this academy. More details will be posted on this website soon, however, in order to be considered for this fire academy the following documents must be submitted to the City of Red Bluff by November 1, 2008:

City of Red Bluff Employment Application (Indicate position applied for as: "FIRE ACADEMY RECRUIT")
Copy of High School Diploma
Copy of Driver’s License
Copy of Social Security card
5-year DMV history printout

Also, please mark your calendar: there is a MANDATORY meeting for all fire academy students on November 20, 2008 at 7PM at the RBFD Training Center on Kimball Road in Red Bluff. A $300 academy fee must be paid by the first class date -- no exceptions.

Fire Academy generally runs from January until May and involves classes on every Tuesday & Thursday night (5PM - 10PM) and all day every Saturday (7AM - 5PM) during this period. Exact class dates have not yet been established. Part of this class time will involve rigorous physical training during the academy.
