City of Red Bluff Residential
Burning Regulations

YOU MUST
FIRST CALL THE TEHAMA COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL
AT 527-8320 PRIOR TO BURNING.
Pursuant to Red Bluff
City Code Section 8.13; residential burning within the Red Bluff city
limits is covered by the following:
BURNING
OF LEAVES ONLY

Although a written permit from
the Red Bluff Fire Department is not necessary, residential burning of
leaves can be conducted only in accordance
with the following rules:

Must be an
authorized burn day.
Hours are designated by the Air Pollution Control Office (527-8320).

The fire must be in one or
more small heaps or piles. You may only burn leaves.

The fire must be set
in
the concrete portion of the street gutter and the piles of leaves must
be small
enough so that the heat does not damage the asphalt portion of the roadway.
-
There must be at least one
adult in actual attendance with water, garden hose, shovel, or other
fire extinguishing equipment on hand.

BURNING IN
A BURN BARREL OR INCINERATOR
Effective January 1, 2004,
residential burn barrels and/or
incinerators are no longer authorized per the State of California.

FAILURE TO
COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE BURNING REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN A CITATION BEING
ISSUED BY THE RED BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT PER RED BLUFF CITY CODE SECTION
8.10.
