On July 16, 2004 the RBFD was notified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that it had been awarded $102,300 for the purchase of much needed firefighting equipment and training materials.

The 2004 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program is a Federal program which has been authorized by congress to award up to $750 million dollars to fire departments nationwide.

The RBFD plans to use the funds to replace aging, damaged, and non-compliant firefighting equipment and gear which are used daily by our personnel.
